DRF - Eligibility

Who can apply

Restaurants must have:

  • A brick & mortar location

  • No more than three total locations 

  • 50 or fewer employees per location 

  • Been open for at least six months 

  • Revenues of $3M or less per location in the last 12 months

  • Located in United States, Puerto Rico, New Zealand, Australia, or Canada 

  • Been impacted by an eligible state or federally-declared natural disaster, including but not limited to wildfires, hurricanes, and earthquakes

Applications must be submitted within 12 months of the declared disaster. Grants can be used to cover expenses directly related to an eligible disaster.

COVID-19 related damages are not eligible or considered by this fund.

  3. Apply for disaster loan assistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you operate a restaurant in the United States or Puerto Rico, you can apply for a grant from the Disaster Relief Fund at Hello Alice.

If you operate a restaurant in Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, you can apply for a grant from the Disaster Relief Fund at Global Entrepreneurship Network.

Grant recipients will be selected based on criteria published. Recipients will be notified on a rolling basis after 30 days of the application closing.

  • Be a for-profit business located and registered in one of the fifty United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, New Zealand, Australia, or Canada; AND

  • Be a restaurant, gastropub or bakery with a brick & mortar location that has experienced a loss in revenue as a direct result of a state of emergency or federally-declared natural disaster which occurred within the last 12 months;

    • have 3 or fewer total locations;

    • have 50 or fewer employees per location;

    • have been open for at least 6 months;

    • have revenues of $3M USD or less per location in 2022; AND

    • be independently-owned.

This grant is only intended to cover disasters that occur from natural processes of the Earth such as hurricanes, floods, and wildfires. COVID-19 related damages are not eligible.
